Songs you learn when you are a child accompany you as long as you live. Ineke Lautenbach grew up with the songs from the Dutch Reformed Songbook of 1938. Melodies from this songbook go with her, but not all of them are often heard nowadays. And that's a pity. That's why she wrote new words to old melodies she likes. Also to some melodies that are still in use. And for some songtexts she found a composer, so a completely new song was made.
How do you write a songtext? What should you keep in mind? Why these subjects and why these words? Each song in this book comes with a column about these subjects. And next to each song there's a picture, mostly a drawing made by Jos Offers.
A book to take a look at. A book to read. And most of all a book to sing from, unisono and in four voices.
This book is written in Dutch
